Solastalgia - Resonance as Resistance
Rewilding Cadavre Exquis: Collective Practices and Sharing Circle on Social-
Ecological Justice and Grief
Hosted by Julia Flux & Ece Manav
Resonance as Resistance re-emerges the spirit of CADAVRE EXQUIS—a research and exhibition framework born from the emotional landscape of solastalgia, ecological grief, and environmental justice cadavre-exquis.art. Rooted in queer, animistic, and indigenous practices, CADAVRE EXQUIS honored decay as ritual and ceremony — not as erasure, but as fertile ground for renewal.
This revival gathers sound artists, somatic practitioners, activists and eco-feminist thinkers into a living field of shared inquiry. Through dialogic installations, frequency work and somatic listening the event summons a new earthly liturgy: one attentive to loss, yet generative in justice.
- Drawing on Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects, we acknowledge ecological grief not as paralysis but as a motor for relational repair and social transformation.
- Inspired by Vandana Shiva, we privilege embodied, local knowledge over disembodied data: understanding that “information is not knowledge,” especially when it divorces us from soil, seed, and the intelligence of the living earth.
- Through Karen Barad’s quantum feminism, we deepen our conception of resonance and resistance: in quantum terms, resonance is coherence at entanglement—where particles don’t just influence each other, they intra-act to become. Touch is not contact, but co-creative emergence. In this sense, resistance is not block, but texture — the friction in the field that gives resonance its distinctive strength.
This gathering reframes justice not as a token to be given, but as a tuning practice: an embodied, somatic, and neural attunement to our ecological and social entanglements. From frequency work (sound, electromagnetic hums, breath) to somatic sensing, and soil-rooted knowledge, each gesture becomes a strand in the web we weave together.
We, all together, aim to offer a regenerative encounter—a collective tuning into the frequencies that bind us to land, to each other, to grief, and to justice.
Program will be announced.
