Karol Lindholm is a filmmaker and festival curator.
His path has taken him across Europe, with formative
years in Germany, Poland, and Denmark, and family roots
in Sweden. Now based in Berlin, he works across
documentary and fiction films.
He holds a Master of Arts in Cinematography and Photography
from the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of
Silesia and completed the Ekran+ program in Screenwriting and
Directing at the Wajda School and Studio. His short films In a
Lion and The Last Whistle have been screened at more than 100
international film festivals, and art galleries including
Tampere Film Festival, Slamdance, and the Guanajuato
International Film Festival, and have received awards such as
the Best Documentary Short Film at Vilnius IFF, the Green Film
Award at Interfilm Berlin, and the Grand Prix at La Cabina
Valencia. In a Lion was most recently exhibited at the
National Gallery in Prague.
His most recent feature project has been developed within
Berlinale Talents and Camerimage Talent Demo. Since 2021,
Lindholm has also been part of the programming team for the
short documentary competition at Slamdance Film Festival, one
of the leading independent showcases for emerging voices in
cinema.
